WIAA
Media Relations

Media Passes:

For all WIAA State Championships, media members will be granted entry at the media pass gate when they present valid identification and a photo credential from the media outlet they represent.  If the media member does not have a photo credential from their designated media outlet, a signed letter on company/station letterhead stating who is representing the media outlet, what events they plan to cover and who to contact with any questions is required for entry.  That letter should be presented to the tournament staff at the pass gate.

Due to the high interest in semi-final football, Gridiron Classic©, Mat Classic©, and the State Basketball championships, online pre-registration is recommended for all writers, photographers and broadcasters.  Pre-registration for the 2008 state basketball tournaments is now closed. All media members seeking an event credential must bring their media photo credential and a letter on company letterhead from their sports editor/supervisor to the event. This letter should state which team you plan to cover and whom to contact if tourney staff has questions.

If you have questions regarding availability of phone lines, Internet service or site accommodations, please contact Darin Hanson at the WIAA office.

Broadcast media outlets who wish to broadcast games via radio or telephone will be required to pay a rights fee (click here for a list of fees)
