WEEK 38

Damon Unland (SR)
Ferris HS - 4A
Track & Field Unland won the 4A discus championship for the third consecutive year, with his last throw of 185-05.  He also finished second place in the shot put, with a score of 57-08.50.
Ronnie Ladiness (SR)
Arlington HS - 4A
Softball Ladiness led her team to the 4A title by giving up only one run and striking out 55 batters in the tournament.
Mason Cerrillo (SO)
Auburn Mountainview HS - 3A
Baseball Cerrillo was 5-7 at the plate in victories over Kennewick and West Seattle to help capture the 3A state championship.  He had a double, a stolen base, and three RBI.  Cerrillo also executed a squeeze bunt in the semifinals game to score two runs and tied the ballgame at 3-3.
Ellie Heiden (JR)
Kamiakin HS - 3A
Track & Field Heiden finished in first place in all four events at the state track meet this past weekend.  She finished first in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and the 4x200m relay.  Her 400m time broke the meet record.  Heiden scored 40 points for her team to led her team to the team championship.
Aaron Whalen (SO)
Ephrata HS - 2A
Golf Whalen won the 2A championship last week held at Chambers Bay Golf Course in Tacoma.  He shot four under in the two day event to take first place.
Cherokee Kim (JR)
Steilacoom HS - 2A
Golf Kim fired a 77 in round one and a 79 in round two, to win the 2A title at The Classic Golf Course in Spanaway.
Nathan Griffith (SR)
Cashmere HS - 1A
Baseball Griffith was the winning pitcher in the 1A state championship game and led his team to an 8-4 victory over Montesano.  He pitched a complete game, scattering eight hits and had four strikeouts.  Griffith posed a threat with his bat, by going 2-3 with two RBI.
Michelle Lui (JR)
Forest Ridge HS - 1A
Tennis Lui finished off her undefeated season by winning the 1A state single title this past weekend at the tournament in Yakima.  She dominated her competition by winning 6-0, 6-0 / 6-0, 6-0 / 6-1, 6-2 / 6-0, 6-0.
Stephen Bottoms (SR)
Onalaska HS - 2B
Track & Field Bottoms placed first in three events at the state tournament last week by winning the 800m, 1,600m, and 3,200m.  He set the meet record in the 1,600m, with a time of 4:13.24, breaking a record from 1989.
Alissa Brooks-Johnson (SR)
Pe Ell HS - 2B
Track & Field Brooks-Johnson took first in three events and second in the 200m (25.93) at the 2B state track meet.  Her first place finishes were in the 100m hurdles (15.15), triple jump (37’1.75), and she set a new state meet record in the 300m hurdles (42.84).
Tyler Colton (SR)
Lake Quinault HS - 1B
Baseball Colton led the Elks to a state championship with a win over Liberty Christian.  He collected four RBI and a double in the 8-5 victory.
Kassie Guglielmino (SR)
Northport HS - 1B
Track & Field Guglielmino defended her sprint titles at the state meet in Cheney, by winning the 100m, 200m, and 400m.  She finished with 12 individual state championships for her high school career.

Kentridge HS - 4A
Baseball Dacus threw a complete game one hitter, in the regional finals to send the Chargers to the final four.  He had six strikeouts in the victory.
Mackenzie Draper (SR)
Mead HS - 4A
Tennis Draper won both of her loser-out matches last week at the regional tournament in Richland and earned a place in this week’s state tournament.  She won her first match 6-0, 6-2 and her second match 6-1, 6-1.
Keith Williams (SR)
North Central HS - 3A
Track & Field Williams was the Eastern Regional champion in the 800m (1:53.58) and the 1,600m (4:09.36) last week.  He also anchored the second place 4x400m relay team, which set a new school record of 3:22.47.
Imani Apostol (SO)
Holy Names Academy HS - 3A
Track & Field Apostol claimed the SeaKing Distrist 2 titles in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x100m relay last week.  Her and her teammates won the District 2 team title by earning 123 points and are advancing to the state tournament at Mt. Tahoma, on 5/23.
DePaul Blunt (JR)
Clarkston HS - 2A
Baseball Blunt earned victories in two regional games last week over West Valley (Yakima) and West Valley (Spokane) to send his team to the state tournament in Yakima.  He went 5-7 at the plate combined and had the game winning hit and RBI in game one.
Kayla Smith (SO)
White River HS - 2A
Softball Smith pitched three shutouts against Olympic, Port Angeles, and Fife in last week’s West Central District 3 Tournament.  She pitched 18 innings, with 23 strikeouts and zero earned runs.  Smith also went 4-7 with a double, a RBI, two walks, and three runs scored.
Josh Gehrke (SR)
Seattle Christian HS - 1A
Soccer Gehrke had one goal and three assists in the 4-3 win over Highland in the state quarterfinal game last week.  The Warriors will compete in a state semi-finals match against Okanogan on 5/24.
Kendra Sanford (SO)
Rochester HS - 1A
Track & Field Sanford won district titles last week in the 100m hurdles (16:09) and the 300m hurdles (46.91) on 5/17.
Jonathan O'Neill (JR)
Crosspoint Academy HS - 2B
Track & Field O’Neill was the league and district champion in the 800m event and placed second in the 4x400m relay team competition. 
Ashlyn Lyons (JR)
DeSales HS - 2B
Softball Lyons went 3-4 in each game against Liberty (Spangle), NW Christian (Colbert), and Waitsburg-Prescott, on 5/18.  She compiled a homerun, a triple, three doubles, three RBI, and six runs scored.  Lyons was also the winning pitcher in the contests, by totaling 23 strikeouts.
Kyle McCrea (SR)
Wellpinit HS - 1B
Track & Field McCrea took first place in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay at last week’s District 7 track meet.  He set the district’s record in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay.
Katelyn Pendley (SR)
Thorp HS - 1B
Track & Field Pendley won the District 5/6 championship in both the 200m (27.17) and the 400m (61.34).

Federal Way HS - 4A
Track & Field McNeal took first place in the 100m (11.02), 200m (21.99), 400m (48.91), and was on the winning 400m relay (41.93) at the SPSL 4A meet last week.
ShaRaya Quinn (JR)
Emerald Ridge HS - 4A
Track & Field Quinn ran the fastest state time in the 300m hurdles (42.81) at the SPSL Championship meet, on 5/10.  Her time is the eighth fastest in the nation.
Marcelo Castro (SR)
Hazen HS - 3A
Soccer Castro started his week strong with a hat trick and an assist in the Highlander’s sub-district victory over Auburn Mountainview.  He followed that up with a goal and an assist against Shelton in a winner to state matchup, on 5/11.
Whitney Diggs (SR)
Highline HS - 3A
Track & Field Diggs earned four victories in the Seamount/SPSL 3A sub-district meet on 5/10 and 5/12.  She won the 100m, 200m, 400m, and the 4x200m relay.  This includes a new school record and current state best in the 400m, at 55.75.
Derrick Mahlum (SR)
Archbishop Murphy HS - 2A
Baseball Mahlum won two games as the pitcher in the District 1 baseball tournament last week.  In the first game he posted a three-hit shutout and in the championship game he gave up two hits and one run for the win.
Gabby Gorosave (FR)
Sehome HS - 2A
Softball Gorosave was 3-3 at the plate, in a 11-1 win over Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference game, on 5/9.  She finished with a double, a grand slam, a run scored, and five RBI.
Koleman Johns (SR)
Naches Valley HS - 1A
Baseball Johns picked up two wins in last week’s SCAC District Tournament.  He struck out 14 batters against Kiona-Benton and eight against Connell.
Sally Larson (SR)
Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) HS - 1A
Track & Field Larson won the 800m, 1600m, and anchored the winning 4x400m relay team at the Nisqually League Championship track meet.
Jesus Sanchez (SR)
Manson HS - 2B
Soccer Sanchez scored six goals and had two assists in three games for the Trojans, including the game winners against Brewster and Okanogan.
Kaitlyn Grunst (JR)
Oroville HS - 2B
Track & Field Grunst finished first place in four events last week at the sub-district 2B track meet.  She lead in the high jump (5’0”), triple jump (32’0”), long jump (15’7”1/2), and the 1600m relay (3:32).
Julianna Hughes (JR)
Almira Coulee Hartline HS- 1B
Softball Hughes punched out 14 batters in two district games last week on 5/11.  In 14 innings of work, she allowed seven hits, four walks, and two earned runs on the mound.

Lewis and Clark HS - 4A
Soccer Gu scored goals in each of the Tigers’ loser-out playoff matches last week.  Lewis and Clark beat Mead, 2-1, Gonzaga Prep, 1-0, and Central Valley, 2-1.
Kayla Andrews (JR)
Richland HS - 4A
Softball Andrews pitched the Bombers to the MCC League title by beating Walla Walla once and Kamiakin twice last week.  She was 3-0, as she allowed three earned runs and struck out 16 batters, in 16 2/3 innings.  Offensively, Andrews was 5-15, with two walks and four RBI.
Nick Brooks (SR)
Auburn Mountainview HS - 3A
Baseball Brooks pitched a seven inning three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in last week’s first game of their sub-regional tournament.  The second game he went 3-3 at the plate with three doubles and two RBI.
Shelby McCannel (SR)
Holy Names Academy HS - 3A
Softball McCannel went 10-14 at the plate in four Metro League games last week.  She racked up two walks, scored six runs, and nine RBI.
Cody Roth (SO)
Bellingham HS - 2A
Golf Roth shot even par 72 at Sudden Valley on 5/1, while leading the Red Raiders to a team season low score of 381 for the fourth conference match win in a row.
Sally Fletcher (SR)
Klahowya HS - 2A
Golf Fletcher stayed undefeated and won the Olympic League girls MVP last week, with first place finishes against North Kitsap and at the Olympic League Tournament.
Conner Fremmerlid (SR)
Seattle Christian HS - 1A
Soccer Fremmerlid had four shutouts in the last five games to help the Warriors to its’ third consecutive league title. 
Amy Wray (SR)
Forest Ridge HS - 1A
Softball Wray was 10-13 in three games last week, with three homeruns, six doubles, and a double.
Cody Jones (JR)
Seattle Lutheran HS - 2B
Baseball Jones pitched two innings against University Prep on 5/1, giving up no runs, no hits, and striking out five.  He was 1-3 at the plate.  On 5/3 against Chief Leschi, he pitched five innings and struck out 13-16 batters faced.  Jones gave up no hits, no runs and was 4-4 at the plate.  He also scored three times and three RBI.
Cheyenne Haack (FR)
Reardan HS - 2B
Softball Haack went 17-26 at the plate in her last seven games for the Indians.  While batting .653, she also stroked six doubles and three triples.
Emery Maupin (SR)
Selkirk HS - 1B
Baseball Maupin was 5-8 last week with eight a sacrifice fly, three doubles, four runs scored, four stolen bases, and eight RBI in a double-header against Curlew.  The Rangers won each game 11-1 and 15-9.
Jessika Reiber (SR)
Selkirk HS - 1B
Softball Reiber hit .715 in last week’s play, including a triple, two RBI, and three runs scored.

Track & Field O’Connell posted the second best shot put distance in the nation at 62’ 1” during the Shoreline Invitational, on 4/27.
April Utecht (SO)
Richland HS - 4A
Softball Utecht went 6-6 at the plate in a double-header against Chiawana, on 4/26.  She had a double, a walk, nine RBI, and popped three homeruns.
Cody Moorhead (SR)
Hazen HS - 3A
Baseball Moorhead was the winning pitcher in two games last week to clinch the Seamount League title.  He scattered two runs over eight innings, while striking out 11.  At the plate, he hit .450 for the week with a 1.450 OPS.  Moorhead had two homers, two doubles, a triple, and seven RBI.
Sierra Bezdicek (JR)
Mount Spokane HS - 3A
Golf Bezdicek carded a 68, 3 under par to win last week’s Big East Girls’ Golf Invitational, which included 87 participants.
Shane Matheny (JR)
Olympic HS - 2A
Baseball Matheny was 7-9 from the plate last week, including a triple, two doubles, three stolen bases, four walks, six RBI, and six runs scored.  As the Trojans’ closer, he threw three innings and had five strikeouts, allowing no hits or runs.
Bella Hoyos (SR)
Bellingham HS - 2A
Tennis Hoyos came back from a 6-3, 4-1 deficit to defeat her opponent from Burlington-Edison 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 and led the Red Raiders to a 5-2 victory.
Jonah Graff (SR)
Bellevue Christian HS - 1A
Soccer Graff had 10 goals and three assists in three Nisqually League wins last week for the Vikings.
Ashley Thompson (SR)
Connell HS - 1A
Softball Thompson threw her fourth perfect game with striking out all 15 batters she faced in the first game of a double-header sweep against Warden.  She struck out 27 batters in the two games as well as added a homerun, a double, and three RBI in the first game.
Mickenzie Mullins (JR)
Asotin HS - 2B
Softball Mullins pitched a no-hitter on 4/22, versus perennial Idaho powerhouse Orofino.  She struck out 16 batters, along with going 2-3 from the plate, with a triple and two RBI.
Richard Carlile (SR)
Lake Quinault HS - 1B
Baseball Carlile was 3-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored against Wishkah Valley.  Two days later against Oakville, he tossed a complete game with 12 strikeouts and the victory.  At the plate, he went 1-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases.
Megan Weller (FR)
Quilcene HS - 1B
Softball Weller went 7-9 at the plate last week, including a triple, three doubles, six runs scored, and nine RBI.  She also pitched two scoreless innings and totaling three strikeouts.

Olympia HS - 4A
Baseball Loague tossed 13 innings this past week leading the Bears to a 3-0 record, earning wins over Central Kitsap and Bellarmine Prep.  He allowed one run on the mound and had four RBI at the plate all week.  Against Bellarmine Prep, Loague threw a complete no-hitter game while striking out seven.
Abby Perryman (SO)
Richland HS - 4A
Softball Perryman was the key for the Bombers in defeating Hanford and Southridge last week.  For the week, she was 7-12 with eight runs scored, eight RBI, a double, a triple, and a clutch three-run homerun.  On the mound, she earned two wins in 72/3 innings of work.  She allowed zero runs and struck out 11 batters.
Brian Wambaa (SR)
Mount Tahoma HS - 3A
Soccer Wambaa collected four goals and two assists in victories over Foss and Lincoln.  He scored a hat trick and added an assist in the 5-0 win over the Abes, on 4/18.
Jessica Edminster (SR)
Kamiakin HS - 3A
Softball Edminster was a combined 15-20 from the plate last week in double-header sweeps over Pasco and Chiawana.  She also completed a double-play from her centerfield position by chasing down a fly ball and doubling off a runner at first base.
Tanner McLaughlin (SR)
Anacortes HS - 2A
Baseball McLaughlin threw an eight inning complete game on 4/20, giving up just one earned run and five hits, with zero walks.  He also singled in the winning run.
Kayla Brissey (SR)
Ephrata HS - 2A
Softball Brissey batted 4-6 with three RBI and two homeruns in the game against East Valley on 4/17.  On 4/20 against Prosser, she was 3-5 at the plate with two triples and two RBI.
Douglas Close (SR)
Bellevue Christian HS - 1A
Soccer Close scored five goals and had four assists in two wins and a loss, last week for the Vikings.
Jordyn Vandenberg (SR)
Kalama HS - 1A
Softball Vandenberg racked up eight RBI in a 21-16 victory over La Center on 4/15.  She went 4-6 and hit three homeruns.  Vandenberg had two three-run homeruns and one two-run homer.
Camron Richman (SO)
DeSales HS - 2B
Baseball Richman pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts in an 8-3 win over Asotin.  The two teams share the lead in their league.
Lanae Salway (JR)
Chief Leschi HS - 2B
Track & Field Salway came in first place in the 100m high hurdles (17.90), 300m high hurdles (53.66), and triple jump (28’6.5”) at the Sea-Tac League meet on 4/18.  She was also on the second place 4x400 relay team.
Kirbi Anderson (SR)
Selkirk HS - 1B
Softball Anderson pitched two shut-outs, giving up four hits, striking out 13, and walking one against Northport.  At the plate, she was 4-6 in the two games while hitting three triples, a double, and driving in seven runs.

Cascade (Everett) HS - 4A
Track & Field Dobson was the Athlete of the Meet at the Eason Invite by winning the 110m hurdles (14.48), 300m hurdles (40.56) and long jump (21-1 ½). The 110m hurdles time broke a 16 year old school record.
Kaija Gibson (FR)
Redmond HS - 4A
Softball Gibson went 7-11 from the plate, including a double, two triples, and a home run in three victories for the Mustangs last week. She added a walk, two stolen bases, seven runs scored, and drove in 10 runs.
Carlos Riojas (JR)
Mount Spokane HS - 3A
Track & Field Riojas set a personal record last week with his javelin throw of 188 feet and one inch. This throw now ranks him in the top 10 in the nation.
Ellie Heiden (JR)
Kamiakin HS - 3A
Track & Field Heiden placed first in the 200m, 400m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay at the Pasco Invite. She was the Athlete of the Meet, which had 1,400 competitors.
Christian Chala (JR)
Squalicum HS - 2A
Soccer Chala scored a goal and assisted another in a 2-1 league victory over Sedro-Woolley, on 4/11.
Kara Burns (JR)
Bellingham HS - 2A
Tennis Burns defeated her opponent from Squalicum 6-0, 6-3 on 4/10, to help the Red Raiders to a 4-1 Northwest Conference win over the Storm.
Devin Knight (SR)
Cashmere HS - 1A
Baseball Knight had an outstanding week, by going 7-9 at the plate with three doubles, three RBI, seven stolen bases, and seven runs scored. He also pitched five innings, giving up one run, one hit, while striking out six and earning a win.
AJ Villa (SR)
Granger HS - 1A
Softball Villa went 8-8 at the plate in a double-header on 4/13. She totaled 11 RBI and hit for the cycle in the second game, where she popped two homers, one of them being a grand slam.
Hannah Dykes (JR)
Raymond HS - 2B
Track & Field Dykes won the 100m (13.33), 200m (28.85), and triple jump (34-1 ¼) at a league meet in Raymond on 4/11. All three marks were season bests.
Samantha Rae (SO)
Quilcene HS - 1B
Softball Rae played in three games last week, pitching 12 innings, allowing two hits, zero runs, striking out 30 batters, and threw a no-hitter against Lake Quinault on 4/13. She went 4-8 batting with a double, six runs scored, seven RBI, and a three-run home run.

Baseball Dye threw a perfect game against Mariner on 4/2, with 11 strikeouts.
Alysha Overland (SO)
Moses Lake HS - 4A
Track & Field Overland placed first in the 300m hurdles (47.52), 4x100 (50.37), and sprint medley 6, 2, 4, 800m (6:17.10). Her time in the 300m hurdles broke the school record.
Mori Tsuchiya (SR)
Chief Sealth HS - 3A
Soccer Tsuchiya scored four goals and assisted two more in three games for the Seahawks last week.
Megan Porche (SO)
Timberline HS - 3A
Softball Porche hit two solo homeruns and a grand slam in a victory last week over Foss, 4/1. She tallied six RBI in the game.
Trever Morrison (SR)
Archbishop Murphy HS - 2A
Baseball Morrison went 10-11 at the plate with three doubles and two homeruns in a three-game series against Lakewood.
Sarah Steinman (JR)
Port Angeles HS - 2A
Softball Steinman pitched 12 innings last week and gave up only four hits, zero earned run, and struck out 17 batters. At the plate, she was 7-14 and had eight RBI.
Luke VanWingerden (SO)
Nooksack Valley HS - 1A
Soccer VanWingerden netted three goals last week giving the Pioneers wins over Mount Baker and Friday Harbor.
Ally Phansisay (JR)
Raymond HS - 2B
Track & Field Phansisay won the long jump (19-2) and triple jump (41-7), as well as leading off the winning 4x100m relay team (47.2) at the Henrie-Weisel Tri-District Meet on 4/4. His triple jump mark tied the top 2B mark in the state this season.
Erica Eng (SO)
Colfax HS - 2B
Softball Eng pitched in a double-header notching wins of 23-0 and 10-0. She allowed zero hits and struck out eight in the first game. She allowed two hits and had eight strikeouts in the second game. At the plate for both games, she went 3-8 with a single, double, and a grand slam.
Drew Isaak (SR)

Baseball Isaak dominated as he pitched a no-hitter against Cusick on 4/6.

Baseball Blackburn was 7-16 at the plate, with five RBI, four stolen bases, and three runs scored as the Spartans went 3-1 for the week.
Madison Rogers (SO)
Todd Beamer HS - 4A
Softball Rogers was a force on the mound and at the plate this past week posting an ERA of 0.875 and notching four wins. She pitched 24 innings, allowed three earned runs, and struck out 37 batters. At the plate, Rogers was 6-14 with two doubles and three RBI.
Sam Bunnell (SR)
Hazen HS - 3A
Soccer Bunnell led the Highlanders to a pair of victories last week netting six goals. He had two goals and an assist against Foster and capped the week off with four goals and an assist against Lindbergh.
Maryssa Tippett (SR)
Lincoln HS - 3A
Softball Tippett led her team to a 10-9 victory over Tacoma Baptist on 3/26, where she pitched a complete game five-hitter and struck out seven. At the plate, Tippett was 4-5, with two homeruns.
Joey Barnes (SR)
Port Angeles HS - 2A
Golf Barnes was a match medalist in the first two matches of the year for the Roughriders. He currently holds the lowest nine hole average in the league, with 35.5 (one-half stroke under par).
Elyse Lovgren (SO)
Port Angeles HS - 2A
Track & Field Lovgren had an outstanding week by winning the South Kitsap Invitational triple-jump title against 12 other schools. She jumped 34 ft. 5 ¼ in.
Grant Fremmerlid (SR)
Seattle Christian HS - 1A
Soccer Fremmerlid scored eight goals and had one assist in three games last week to keep the Warriors’ undefeated season going. Over the past three years, Fremmerlid has now scored or assisted at least one goal in 33 games.
Kassidy Ruggles (SR)
Zillah HS - 1A
Softball Ruggles was 7-7 with 12 RBI in the Leopards’ sweep of La Salle last week, including hitting for the cycle in the opener. She collected two triples, two doubles, one single, and one homerun.
Joseph Kosik (JR)
White Swan HS - 2B
Baseball Kosik threw a five-inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the opener and went 4-5 in the second game of the sweep of Soap Lake last week. He had two triples, a double, and a single.
Kirsten Scrabeck (SR)
Naselle HS - 2B
Softball Scrabeck led her team to a 15-13 victory over Oakville in 10 innings of play. She went an eye-popping 5-7 with two doubles and four RBI.

Baseball Marty was 4-8 with a double, a triple, and a homerun in three games last week for the Ravens. He also piled up four RBI and scored three runs.

Basketball Rakoz led the Indians to a first ever state championship by putting up 16 points, three steals, and blocks against Okanogan.  In game two against Cedar Park Christian, he had 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots.  And in his final game, he scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and blocked three shots against King’s.  He was awarded the 1A Tournament MVP.

Swimming Wilson won two individual events and two relay events at the District 5/6/7 1A/2A swim meet.  She broke the district records in the 200 medley relay (1:55.96), 100 freestyle (0:53.39), 100 breast stroke (1:08.05), and 400 free relay (3:51.08).
Taylor Roelofs (JR)
Life Christian Academy HS- 1A
Football Roelofs rushed 31 times for 225 yards and was 14-18 passing for 65 yards against Bellevue Christian.  He scored five touchdowns and carried a fake punt for 24 yards.
Kendall Loreth (JR)
Cascade (Leavenworth) HS- 1A
Soccer Loreth netted six goals in three games last week to secure second place in the Caribou Trail League.  She scored two in the win over Quincy and four goals in the win over Omak.
Darol Ratsavongsy (JR)
Raymond HS - 2B
Football Ratsavongsy had 16 carries for 137 yards and three touchdowns in their league title clinching victory over Willapa Valley, 26-0.  He scored on runs of 3, 1, and 77 yards.  Ratsavongsy also had 10 tackles on defensive side of the ball.

Volleyball Meyer totaled 22 kills, seven aces, and four blocks in two victories over Crosspoint Academy and Chief Leschi.

Mary Knight HS - 1B
Football Willey rushed for 146 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns in a win over Wishkah Valley, 48-26.  He was also 7-12 passing for 125 yards, and four touchdowns.  As a linebacker, he caused a fumble, recovered a fumble, and had 11 tackles.

Golf Li was a medalist at Sound Puget Sound League with a 9-under par at the two day tournament at Gold Mountain Cascade course last week.  Her scores were 66 and 67.

Football Rypien broke the state’s single-game record with 577 yards passing in last week’s game against Central Valley.  He tossed three touchdowns and rushed for another.

Soccer Garcia scored six goals last week, notching a hat-trick in each of the league games.

Football Balentine rushed for 248 yards on 25 carries and three touchdowns, leading his team to a 45-12 win over Grandview.

Volleyball Blackman tallied 49 kills, 21 service points, 16 digs, and five aces at the Capital City Invite last week.  In their two league matches, she had 20 kills, 16 service points, 15 digs, and three aces.

Football Hoiness rushed for 268 yards on 21 carries as the Grizzlies nailed down at least a share of the Evergreen 1A League championship, with a 42-3 victory over Tenino.  He scored four touchdowns on runs of 37, 1, 45, and 46 yards.

Soccer Althauser netted nine goals in three games and helped the Warriors secure playoffs, the first time in school history.  She had five goals against Adna, two against Tenino, and two against Montesano.

Football Fazzari rushed for 178 yards on 25 carries and four touchdowns in a 48-10 victory over Tri-City Prep.

Cross Country Speiker won the Central Washington League 2B championship with a time of 19:49.  She set a new course record, beating her own previous record by 49 seconds.

Football Becker produced 653 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns in a 66-64 victory over Lake Quinault last week.  He was 12-20 passing for 296 yards and four scores.  He rushed for 434 yards and four touchdowns.  Becker also caught two passes for 14 yards and another score.

Volleyball Valade-Nunez dished out 22 assists, six aces, two digs, and one block in a 3-0 win over Mount Vernon.  Two days later, she added 27 assists, four aces, nine digs, and one block in a 3-1 over Arlington.

Football Calloway rushed for 240 yards on 27 carries and scored two touchdowns in Prep’s 23-21 win over Bishop Blanchet.

Football Hoe carried the ball 36 times for 436 yards in the Blue Devils’ win at Pasco.  He averaged 12.1 per carry and scored five touchdowns on runs of 88, 70, 51, 18, and 17 yards.  Hoe broke virtually all the school’s single game rushing records.
Hannah Zalopany (SR)
Mead HS - 4A
Volleyball Zalopany had 39 kills, 33 digs, 16 blocks, two aces, and hit .460 in this past weekend’s Crossover Classic Tournament in Spokane.  Mead won the tournament.
Drew Thompson (SR)
Kennedy Catholic HS - 3A
Football Thompson had 311 all-purpose yards and scored five touchdowns last week.  Four scores were by reception and one rushing touchdown.  He had 125 yards rushing, 102 reception yards, and 89 yards in punt returns.

Soccer Sherin contributed a goal and two assists in a league win over Evergreen on 9/4.  Then she topped off the week with a hat trick and an assist, in another victory against Eisenhower, in Yakima.

Volleyball Parrish tallied 51 kills, 28 digs, 19 assists, and eight aces at the Crossover Classic Tournament.  Her hitting percentage was .379 for the tournament.

Volleyball Nesbitt’s stats for two league matches last week were 51 assists, 15 digs, nine blocks, seven kills, five aces, and was 30-30 serving.  Then she was selected to the all-tournament team at RA Long and helped her team to a 10-2 record for the week.

Soccer Best scored five goals and had one assist in the Eagles’ first two league games last week.

Football Weiler rushed six times for 221 yards and three touchdowns.  He also ran back a punt return for a touchdown in the 49-27 victory over Onalaska, on 9/28.

Volleyball Martinez led the Mustangs to sweeps over Liberty Bell and Waterville last week.  She served 41-47 with 20 aces, including a 9-point run to serve out the Waterville match in the third match.  Martinez also had 12 kills.

Football Sample accounted for 10 touchdowns in Cusick’s 92-16 win over Wellpinit.  He rushed 11 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns.  He was 11-18 passing for 213 yards and six touchdowns.  He had one reception for a 29 yard touchdown.  And he also returned two kick-offs for touchdowns.

Emerald Ridge HS - 4A
Volleyball Mullen had 12 kills and 13 digs to lead the Jaguars to a 3-0 win over cross-town Puyallup.
Adam Hinthorne (JR)
Lakeside HS - 3A
Football Hinthorne was 19-32 passing for 354 yards and six touchdowns, as the Lions bested Renton, 56-28.  He broke the school records for passing yards and touchdowns.  Hinthorne also had an interception on defense.
Katelyn McLaughlin (SR)
Southridge HS - 3A
Swimming McLaughlin won four individual events and led her team to three relay wins.  Against Hanford, she won the 50 free (26.67), 100 fly (1:03.31), and the winning 200 free relay.  Then against Kamiakin, McLoughlin won the 200 IM, 100 fly, 200 free relay, and the 400 free relay.

Football Yoro had 18 solo tackles and one assist on defense in last week’s game.  He also returned the game winning kick-off for a 70 yard touchdown.

Football Smith was 17-22 passing for 309 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over Priest River, 55-19.  He also rushed 13 times for 109 yards and three touchdowns.  Smith had five tackles on defense.

Soccer Bladin scored 13 goals and had an assist in four games for the Northwest School girls team.
Stephen Bottoms (SR)

Cross Country Bottoms finished in first place at the Fast and Flat Meet in Randle, with a time of 15:22.  He broke the 5000 meter course record.

Volleyball Phillips racked up 48 assists and six aces in matches against Bush, Shoreline Christian, and Mount Rainier Lutheran.

Soccer Moisant scored two goals for the Highlanders to help beat Shoreline Christian, 3-0.

Volleyball Hoogerhyde had 30 assists and 14 kills in a five-set victory over Seattle Lutheran.  Then against Mount Vernon Christian, she had 31 assists and 10 kills to lead her team to another victory.

Soccer Schultz scored eight goals and had two assists in three victories last week over Kamiak, Jackson, and Eastlake.  Against Jackson, she had the game tying and game winning goals.
Sean Elledge (SR)
Glacier Peak HS - 3A
Football Elledge had seven catches for 187 yards, 70 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the victory over Jackson, 45-35.  His three receiving touchdowns came of 66, 6, and 36 yards.
Katie Knight (SR)
North Central HS - 3A
Cross Country Knight beat the field by nearly a minute, with a time of 18:18 and set a new course record at Mead.
Colby Schultz (SR)
River Ridge HS - 2A
Football Schultz passed for 384 yards and six touchdowns on 14-17 attempts in the win over Ridgefield, 61-40.  He had zero interception in the contest.
Madeline Gillman (JR)
Bellingham HS - 2A
Swimming Gillman won both of her individual races in a dual meet with Squalicum last week.  Her 200 IM time of 2:25 came within two seconds of the school record and her 100 freestyle time was :58.  Gillman also swam a 50 freestyle leg of 26:10 in a medley relay.

Granger HS - 1A
Football Pacheco had three receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown.  On defense, he had two pass break-ups, four solo tackles, and three inceptions.  One of the interceptions was returned 45 yards for a touchdown in Granger’s 34-6 victory over La Salle.
Clare McGree (SO)
La Salle HS - 1A
Soccer McGree netted seven goals in three games last week.  She had two goals in each of the first two matches and a hat trick in the third.
Layne Hellem (SR)
Napavine HS - 2B
Football Hellem had 12 carries for 339 rushing yards and six touchdowns in a 60-26 victory over Onalaska.
Tulie Budiselich (JR)
Liberty Bell HS - 2B
Soccer Budiselich scored four goals and had three assists in two victories last week against Oroville and Omak.
AJ Kieffer (SR)
Wellpinit HS - 1B
Football Kieffer rushed the ball 16 times for 249 yards and threw a 53 yard touchdown.  On defense, he had 12 tackles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions, one for a touchdown.  He accounted for six touchdowns in the game.

Soccer Sakuma led her team with 14 goals and one assist in three matches last week.  She had five goals against Seattle Lutheran, two goals against Crosspoint Academy, and seven goals and an assist against Concrete.

Issaquah HS - 4A
Soccer Thomas tallied five goals and two assists in four games last week, scoring in all four games, to lead her team to 4-0.  She netted two game-winning goals.
Aaron Mandell (SR)
Nathan Hale HS - 3A
Football Mandell had 117 yards rushing on nine carries and a touchdown in a 35-24 win over Franklin.  He also scored on a 95 yard kickoff return and on a 12 yard fumble return.  Mandell added an interception that he returned 32 yards.

Volleyball Macias, the team’s libero had 93 digs, 10 kills, seven aces, and six assists in leading the Highlaners to a 2-0 start in league play.

Football VanderWel rushed 13 times for 146 yards and scored one touchdown in the 40-26 victory over University City in the Football Classic in San Diego.   He also had 47 yards passing yards and set a school record with a 98 yard kickoff returned touchdown.

Soccer Reed notched hat-tricks in both victories over Shelton and Centralia last week.  She also racked up four assists in the two games.

Football Heitzman carried the ball 37 times for 310 yards and three touchdowns in the Spartans’ win over Columbia (Burbank), 33-28.  His scores came on runs of 23, 20, and 11 yards.  Heitzman also had one reception for seven yards.
