Bob Regan
Contributor

Bob Regan is the voice of boys and girls swimming in the state of Washington.  He has been announcing at the state championships since 1947.  Regan has served as the announcer and as the state Meet Manager since 1977.

Regan’s leadership in the swimming and diving community led to the development of the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.  The center was built for the 1990 Goodwill Games and has served as host for the WIAA State Championships since then.  The Aquatic Center is regarded as one of the best swimming and diving facilities in the United States.

Since 1967, Regan has been the publisher of The Wash and The Washette; the newsletters sponsored by Washington Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (WISCA).  These newsletters provide a valuable resource and reference to coaches during their high school swimming seasons.

Regan is a truly dedicated high school swimming enthusiast.  To honor his decades of commitment, Regan received the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Achievement Award in 1991 and he was also awarded the first Special Commendation Award from the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America in 2008.
