Project Coordinator

Position Description:
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is seeking applications for the position of PROJECT COORDINATOR.

Hiring Range: between $35,000-$40,000, DOE. Benefits include employer paid medical, dental, life insurance and 401k as well as 12 days annual sick leave and 10 days annual vacation. Includes excellent fringe benefits.
Standard working hours are 7am-4pm, including some evening and weekend work.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-years experience. Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Computer literate. Experience working in Microsoft Office. Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and basic web editing a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Attentive to details, well organized, ability to work independently, ability to develop and implement short and long-range plans to meet association needs.
  • Knowledge of high school and middle school sports and activities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
In all operational matters, the Project Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, and is responsible for the following:
  • Assist staff with the preparation for, and execution of state championships.
  • Assist with corporate sponsors; communications, publications, reporting and event coordination.
  • Coordinate vendor relations at Association events.
  • Help with the marketing and promotion of state championships, special events and branding of the Association.
  • Assist with social media.
  • Help manage, analyze and monitor web site content and traffic.
  • Participate in the LEAP (student leadership) Committee – helping organize and supervise meetings and community projects.
  • Assist with the technology needs of the Association, working in conjunction with other staff and the outside Technology Support groups.
  • Provide support to the Member Schools.
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned.
