Baseball Coaches NFHS point of emphasis this year: Coaches or team personnel may NOT sit outside the dugout/bench area on buckets or stools. NFHS rules have never allowed for coaches or players to stand outside the dugout during a live ball.

Coaches, players, substitutes, attendants or other bench personnel shall not leave the dugout during live ball for any unauthorized purpose. An authorized purpose would be to get the umpire's attention to request time or to tend to an ill or injured player. Anything else would be an unauthorized purpose. Coaches or players are not allowed to stand or kneel outside their dugout/bench.
