Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer
Location Hermiston High School, Hermiston, OR
Description Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Trainer provides sports medicine care to student athletes in their respected sports. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The Assistant Athletic Training works closely and communicates effectively with coaches and staff to ensure smooth operations and care for student athletes as well as ensuring smooth processes for teams and travel. The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the Head Athletic Trainer with operational support necessary to run an effective athletic training room and provide exceptional care.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or a related field required.

2. Valid NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer certification.

3. Valid Board of Athletic Trainers certification issued through Oregon Health Authority.

4. Ability to organize work with accuracy and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner.

5. Demonstrated efficiency in medical terminology, medical report taking, and record keeping.

6. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff, parents, employees, and supervisors using tact, discretion and professional judgement.

7. Must possess a valid Driver’s License.



Desired Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field.

2. Washington State Wrestling Body Composition Assessor.

3. First Aid/CPR Instructor certified.

4. Bilingual and bicultural skills.
