Eastside Catholic School, a member of the Metro League in the WIAA, is accepting applications for a high school head cheer coach reporting to the athletic director. POSITION Eastside Catholic is seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive coaching style and a strong vision for developing our growing program. We offer competitive pay comparable to coaches with similar experience in our area. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS • Previous experience as a head cheer coach, both sideline and competitive cheer preferred • Previous experience as a cheerleader, collegiate or high school; collegiate experience preferred • Mature, responsible and self-motivated individual with a positive coaching style • Strong communication and leadership skills • Strong vision for developing our high school cheer program • Ability to work effectively with Athletic Department staff and other support members and coaches RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain a physically safe practice environment and plan effective practices • Oversee all practices, games and competitions and provide a positive and competitive experience for team members • Work with school leadership to build and grow school spirit at EC • Ensure all students learn all aspects of the sport and have opportunities to develop skills in practice and at games or competitions • Establish program rules and protocols; implement and enforce them appropriately • Attend and provide team supervision at all high school practices, games and competitions • Communicate essential information (team news, practice changes, game changes) in a timely manner to team members and families • Coordinate practice, sideline and competition schedule well in advance and notify team members • Facilitate planned camps or clinics • Fully understand state and national regulations for competition • Establish seasonal and long-range goals for the program • Model behavior that exemplifies our EC Core Covenants (True Competitor, Integrity, Accountability and Family) • Work with the team to establish team expectations based on the EC Core Covenants and enforce them • Implement team activities to promote EC Core Covenants • Hire and manage staff, including varsity assistant coach and specialty coaches, as needed • Conduct summer practices and conditioning • Coordinate team building and bonding activities • Coordinate team uniform ordering and distribution • Support all fundraising efforts • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
This role is primarily a fall and winter season position in addition to tryouts in May, summer camp and summer conditioning and workouts.
Stipend depends on experience.
