About Winter Coalition: Each year, Winter Coalition allows the WIAA Representative Assembly, along with WIAA District Directors, the WIAA Executive Board and other leaders from around the state, to discuss possible changes to WIAA governance and bylaws. Voting to pass amendments is not conducted at Winter Coalition. Instead, it is the first step of the process where the representative assembly can vote to revise the proposed amendments after receiving feedback from the group. The voting window to pass amendments will open this spring and run from April 29-May 7.
About the WIAA Representative Assembly: The Representative Assembly is comprised of 53 total members - 18 middle level members and 35 high school members. A sixty percent (60%) vote is needed to adopt an amendment. Middle level only amendments require 11 "yes" votes, high school only amendments require 21 "yes" votes, and middle level/high school joint amendments require 32 "yes" votes.
